Desk & Wall Clocks - Wall Hangings - Wall Art - Stone Platters - Decor
Founded by interior designer Jessica Cortes, Mod North & Co. delivers unique and thoughtfully curated products for the eclectic modern boho home.
Jessica obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from Mount Mary University, leading to a 13-year career in commercial design. After a friend's advice, she opened an Etsy shop selling vintage decor and furnishings called SoLoMarket. She purchased a broken antique agate clock and restored it. After a year, it was featured on Etsy's front page, selling almost immediately. With over 4000 hits and many inquiries, she had an idea: to create a modern agate desk clock. The listing for the modern clock soon went live.
In 2017, Jessica rebranded as Mod North & Co., adding clocks and garlands. Two years later, she designed dreamcatchers and wall art, becoming an LLC with a design patent and trademarks. In 2019, Anthropologie started selling her clocks. 2020 brought new website and marketing efforts; by March 2023, her products had found 10,000 homes.
Jessica is a homeschooling, patriotic mother living with her marine veteran husband and five young children in the lake country area of Oconomowoc, WI.
Handcrafted to the highest standards, Jessica's creations blend artisan materials from Brazil and components made by small US-based companies. Sustainably sourced agate slices are carefully placed on powder-coated metal bases, complemented with elegant brass and gold accents. Powering every timepiece is a Seiko mechanism, ensuring a silent operation and timeless design that will last for generations. Transform any nightstand or desk with a captivating statement piece beautifully made with love and care.
